Call For Multi-Agency Emergency Team To Deal With Antisocial Tenants In Clare

Calls have been made for a multi-agency emergency team to be established to deal with antisocial tenants in Clare.

Ennis Councillor Johnny Flynn wants the Gardaí, HSE, Tusla and the Council to form a response team that could quickly deal with persistent antisocial behaviour across the county, and if necessary evict those causing issues.

Clare County Council says there is no mechanism under law for a multi-agency team to address non-compliance with tenancy agreements and that a judicial process must be followed.

But the Fine Gael Councillor believes the various agencies could still work together to address issues before legal action is taken.
