Clare County Council Welcomes Storm Repair Funding

Extensive repair works on Clare's storm-damaged coast will begin in earnest in the coming weeks, after Clare Conty Council was given nearly 17 million euro in funding to help in the recovery from the recent bad weather.

16.2 million will be spent on the repair of infrastructure, while just over 600 thousand euro has also been given to the Council to cover it's costs to date.

Dozens of communities throughout West and North Clare suffered unprecedented damage in the storms of January and February, with the total cost of the damage estimated at 36.8 million euro, the highest amount of any county in Ireland and twenty million more than what has now been given to Clare County Council.
