Clare County Council has been shortlisted in six categories in the Excellence in Local Government Awards.
Now in its 20th year, the Awards, which are held in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage feature a total of 91 Local Authority projects shortlisted over 15 categories.
Clare County Council has been named a new category, ‘Urban Revival’, which showcases local authorities efforts to transform urban areas, while it’s also shortlisted in the Health and Wellbeing, Municipal Districs Initiative, Promoting Economic Development, Supporting Sustainable Communities and Sustainable Environment & Biodiversity categories.
Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland, says in the past 10 years, local authorities have undertaken significant projects in their areas.
