Clare County Council is to seek a seat on the board of Shannon Group.
The Council's former CEO, Tom Coughlan, was appointed to the Group's Board in 2014 and has retained his seat following his retirement from the local authority.
Now, however, Councillors are seeking a dedicated position on the board for the local authority, saying it's important they're kept in the loop on developments at the Airport and with regards to its other activities.
The Taoiseach is to be asked to consider their request, which Shannon Councillor Gerry Flynn thinks will also benefit Shannon Group itself.
