However, the local authority still has one of the lowest rates of absenteeism through sickness of any Council in the country.
Figures released to the Dáil by Minister Simon Coveney show just under 4% of paid working days in the Council were lost due to sickness, and that 0.25% of all working days were lost due to a self-certified absence.
Nationally, the overall cost of sick leave in the public service is estimated at nearly 318 million euro last year, down by over 104 million when compared with 2013.
