Clare County Council is confident of recording a clean sweep of blue flags for the 2024 summer bathing season.
8 Clare beaches retained the prestigous global accolade at a ceremony in Dublin yesterday afternoon which rewards consistent standards in excellence with criteria relating to water quality, facilities for visitors and beach management.
Cappagh Beach in Kilrush was the only site in the Banner county which failed to retain the premium status after an EPA report, showed the beach only recorded a good water quality rating last year.
Acting Director of services at Clare County Council, Siobhán McNulty inisits the water at Cappagh is still perfectly suitable for recreational activity.
