Clare Councillors have criticised a new draft plan to develop the Mid-West, claiming it’s all about Limerick

The Mid West Area Strategic Plan includes the local aithorities in Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary and examines the future for the Mid-West Region in terms of economic, spatial and transport planning.

Among it’s aims is the strengthening of the Limerick/Shannon Gateway, Nenagh and Ennis as the Hub in terms of population growth, but members of Clare County Council have said it’s all about rejuvenating Limerick City.

Kilrush Councillor PJ Kelly wants Clare representatives to have their say before it’s finalised in September.
