While the ongoing talks to form a new government could lead to an election, if no deal is agreed, Clare County Councillors have called for a new look for future elections.
Local representatives have called on the government to ban election posters altogether.

A number of Councillors, including former TD James Breen and recent General Election candidates Ann Norton and Clare Colleran Molloy, backed a motion to this effect at last night's meeting of the local authority.
Some concerns were expressed, however, that any outright ban would be a disadvantage to those seeking election for the first time.
