Clare Councillor Says Hospital Parking Charges “Out Of Hand”

The Chairman of the HSE's Regional Health Forum West says parking charges for those visiting hospitals have gone "out of hand".

Tom McNamara is calling on the Department of Health to intervene to regulate charges at hospitals around the country, saying each hospital is charging different prices.

Figures obtained by Irish Country living show Our Lady of Lourdes Hosptial in Drogheda, Cork University Hospital and St Vincent's in Dublin charge the highest prices.

Parking charges at University Hospital Limerick are at the lower end of the scale with the maximum daily rate for parking capped at €10 per day.

But Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom McNamara says for some, the price is too high.
