The Manager of Clare Crusaders claims guidelines are urgently needed in schools to ensure that special needs students that may display aggressive tendencies are dealt with appropriately.
It follows a new Inclusion Ireland survey, which found that 35% of disabled children endured seclusion in education settings last year, while 27% suffered restraint.
Among the issues reported by parents were their children being locked in rooms alone, sensory rooms being used inappropriately, and children being held against their will.
