It comes after fears had been expressed that the state-run lab at Knockalisheen near Meelick would be shut down as part of a centralisation process but the Minister for Agriculture insists there's "no plans whatsoever" for such a move.

A committee established to review services provided to farmers is expected to report back to Minister Simon Coveney in the coming months.

Cratloe farmer Eddie Punch, General Secretary of the ICSA, says it's vital that services at Knocklisheen aren't withdrawn.
