IBEC has released figures showing that €42 million is paid in commercial rates by companies here, and that this is 39% of the Council’s budget.

However, Kerry companies cover only 32% of their Council's budget, while in Limerick and Tipperary the rates are at 31% and 15% respectively.

IBEC's new Midwest & Kerry President, and CEO of the Shannon-Foynes Port Company, Pat Keating has called for local authorities to reduce these bills and support local economic growth.
