Clare Community Response Hubs To Be Stood Down Today

Clare’s Community Response Hubs and Community Helpline are to be stood down today as power is expected to be restored to all premises by this evening.

Clare County Council has confirmed the hubs, which were set up last week in response to widespread electricity and water outages caused by Storm Éowyn, will close at 4pm.

The Community Helpline, which was active from 8am to 8pm and allowed people to access information relating to supports, will cease operating at the same time.

Interim Chief of Clare County Council Dr Carmel Kirby says it’s important to “acknowledge the great work done by local groups, volunteers and businesses in responding to the need of neighbours and the wider community, and the hospitality sector which opened its doors in the immediate aftermath”.
