Clare communities have been honoured in the 2011 National Tidy Towns competition.
Three Clare entrants were given gold medals – Kilrush, Kilrush and Ennis, which was also given the county award

Mountshannon was given a silver medal while an endeavour awards for improvement was given to Bridgetown.
Killarney, Co. Kerry was named Ireland’s Tidiest Town at the results ceremony in Dublin this afternoon.
It scored just 3 marks more than Ennis.
