Communities along the Clare coast are bracing themselves for possible flooding this morning as Storm Jonas makes its way towards Ireland from the US.
Met Éireann has issued a low-level yellow weather alert with strong onshore winds, high tides and heavy rain forecast until three o'clock this afternoon.
Clare County Council is urging land, home and business owners in flood prone locations to remain vigilant today due to the heightened risk of tidal flooding in exposed areas.
The local authority has described the risk of flooding as "low" at the moment but Met Eireann Forecaster Deirdre Lowe is warning that the combination of weather conditions could cause problems along coast.
