A Clare coach operator has dubbed the ongoing ban on large bookings to OPW sites as a ‘further nail in the coffin’ for the struggling sector.
It comes as the Ennis Friary, which is operated by the Office of Public Works, is set to reopen its doors this morning, with some OPW sites understood to be refusing to take group bookings.

PJ Keogh of PK Travel is a coach operator based in Shannon and says the current cap of 6 visitors entering OPW sites at a time is rendering his business unviable.
He feels the decision is ‘madness’ when the government are encouraging the public to holiday at home.
