Clare's Councillors have called on the Taoiseach to personally intervene in an effort to secure the release of an Irish teenager from prison in Egypt.

Ibrahim Halawa has been in custody for over two years since he was arrested during a protest in Cairo.
His trial has since been postponed on nine separate occasions, and he is next due in court in December.
A meeting of the local authority heard a presentation from Ibrahim's family, including his sister Somaia (Sum-aya) who says her brother is living under very difficult circumstances.
