Kilmaley Councillor Tom McNamara has been re-elected un-opposed to the role at a meeting at the Merlin Park Hospital last evening.
Councillor McNamara says he's proud and honoured to have secured the backing of some 40 councillors from across 9 counties.
He hopes changes at Ennis General and University Hospital Limerick in the coming months will make an impact.
