The Clare Chair of the Vintner’s Federation of Ireland feels pubs in this county aren’t experiencing the same level of growth as those in more built up areas.
It comes as the AIB Pubs Outlook report for 2018 shows an overall positive future for the industry in Ireland, pointing to demand increasing in urban areas.

But concern has been raised for rural pubs, after the report stated they need to turn over at least €8,000 per week or they may not survive.
Darragh McAllister of Lucas’ Bar in Ennis says the report’s positive message may be being felt in Dublin, but it’s yet to be seen in Clare.
