The Clare Chairperson of ICMSA has describes Bank of Ireland's decision to stop customers from withdrawing less than 700 euro from tellers in bank branches as dangerous and wrong.
Martin McMahon believes the decision is out of touch with customers who value the face to face service with their banking institutions.
He believes that people in rural areas and towns would be put in an unsafe environment where it would be easy to conclude that anyone queueing up in those facilities, could be leaving with several hundred euro in their pocket.
Bank of Ireland is ensuring that vulnerable people will be protected but speaking on this programme, Martin says people shouldn't be forced to use machines, if they're not comfortable in doing so.
