The Clare Community Action Tenants Union is calling for a detailed analysis of an RTB survey indicating that more than four-fifths of renters are happy.
The report commissioned by the Residential Tenancies Board found that based on a sample size of 1,200 tenants, 49% of Irish people were hopeful of owning their own home in the next ten years.
However, the findings also revealed that 79% of all small landlords remaining in the market are over the age of 45, which is an increase of 11% in just the last year.
