Clare Carers have welcomed the publication of a National Carers Stategy.
The Strategy says that while it cannot be guaranteed that any additional services or supports will be provided to carers in the short to medium term, the government recognises the role and contribution of carers in Ireland.

Though it’s seen as long overdue, the Ennis Based, Caring for Carers Ireland Group says startegy is the framework that will guide the future of caring in the community and help to support a fair and equitable system for Family Carers in challenging times.
There are over 187,000 people registered as family carers in Ireland, who collectively contribute EUR2.5 billion to the national economy each year.
