Clare Car Dealer Says Government Won’t Meet EV Targets Without Reinstating Subsidies

A prominent Clare car dealer claims the government will not meet its electric vehicle targets without reinstating consumer subsidies.

Last year, the banner recorded a 70% uptick in new EV registrations, with 421 units being sold in total.

Under Ireland’s climate action plan, the state is aiming to put 945,000 EV’s on the road by the end of the decade, even though grants for purchasing new EVs and home charging units were both cut by 50% in the last year.
