Clare women are being urged to be thorough and act fast with their health checks, in order to tackle breast cancer as early as possible.
Christine Franks, who’s a Beauty Therapist and Business Student at the Technological University of the Shannon first discovered a lump at the age of 19 last June and would later undergo a mastectomy to treat stage 3 breast cancer.
Prior to her diagnosis, Christine was a member of the Irish Taekwondo Team and was training at an elite level five nights a week, and from 7 to 9 tomorrow evening a bake-sale fundraiser will take place at Quin Hall for Breast Cancer Ireland in order to help others going through the same process.
Christine says although it was a difficult journey, she’s beginning to rebuild her confidence.
