Clare’s Fianna Fáil Senator insists more semi-permanent accommodation should be made available to house refugees and asylum seekers, in an effort to free up hotel accommodation in the tourist sector.
It comes after 1 billion euro has been diverted to state efforts to accommodate those fleeing the war in Ukraine.
The supplementary estimate agreed by the Government will help the Department of Integration cover the costs of housing Ukrainians and other people seeking international protection.
