Clare Builder Optimistic That Construction Costs Will Level Out Later This Year

An Ennis builder beileves that the cost of materials will level out by the second half of this year.

A new survey by the Construction Industry Federation published this week found the sector is recovering well, with half of respondents reporting an increased turnover in the third quarter of 2021, compared with the previous year.

Around 99% said they were paying more for raw materials, however, with the vast majority expecting prices to continue rising.

It’s feared it could add thousands to the cost of new homes, but Ciaran Breen, of Ciaran Breen Construction in Ennis is optimistic that situation will improve by summer.
