Clare Beef Farmers Warned UK Beef Demand May Reduce “Dramatically”

Clare beef farmers are being warned the demand for beef in Britain may fall dramatically in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

Farmers from this county were among those to attend a Beef Taskforce meeting this week where the issue was raised, after it was set up last year to resolve issues in the sector.

It comes as the British Government says ‘talks are progressing’ on a trade deal between the EU and UK ahead of the end of the transition period.

ICSA General Secretary and Cratloe farmer, Eddie Punch, says possible tariffs being applied to Irish beef if there’s no deal is concerning.
