Clare is the subject of two separate weather warnings this morning.

Storm Caroline is passing close to the north coast of Scotland this morning, bringing with it severe winds, which will affect Ireland.

As a result, Met Éireann has issued a yellow weather warning for Clare, with winds of up to 56 kilometres per hour and gusts of up to 110 kilometres forecast up until 8 o’clock tonight.

Temperatures will begin to plummet from this afternoon when a yellow snow and ice warning comes into force – it will be bitterly cold, with up to 3 centimetres of snow and icy patches expected in some places.
