The Clare-based outgoing CEO of Safe Ireland says the government need to put more resources in to modernising what she says is ’19th century’ infrastructure in curbing domestic violence.

Sharon O Halloran’s comments come as those working to support domestic abuse victims prepare for an expected increase in incidents over the festive period.

Breaches of Domestic Violence Orders in this county spiked by almost a third during the first nine months of this year.
