A Clare-based mother who recently moved from Scotland says she never imagined finding a childcare place would be so difficult.
From today, the minimum hourly subsidy under the National Childcare Scheme for children under 15 has increased by 53% from €1.40 to €2.14.

The Department of Children has also announced that from September, a fee cap for new services in the Core Funding will be introduced – thus stipulating a maximum fee that participating providers may charge.
Ennis resident Megan Kelly has observed that larger families are having particular difficulty finding a place.
