A Clare-based former Minister for Defence doesn’t believe the coalition has the leeway to introduce a MidWest Minister in the upcoming Cabinet Reshuffle.

Discussions are due to begin next week in relation to the reassignment of government departments between parties, with the historic switching of the position of Taoiseach to take place on December 17th.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar will swap roles with Taoiseach Micheal Martin, the roles of Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe and Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath will also be swapped, while the Green Party intends to keep their current positions.
