The Clare-based Chair of Water Safety Ireland is asking people to be mindful that lifeguards won’t be on duty this bank holiday weekend.
The lifeguard service at Lahinch, Spanish Point, Fanore and Kilkee won’t commence until the June bank holiday weekend.

However, with temperatures set to reach the high teens this weekend, many may be likely to take to the water.
Clare McGrath, who’s also the Local Authority’s Water Safety Development Officer says despite the warmer weather, water temperatures will still be very cold.
