A Clare Auctioneer claims the price ceiling for the first home scheme in this county needs to be expanded to increase local housing supply.
The first home-shared equity scheme sees either banks or the state contributing up to 30% of the cost of building or purchasing a new dwelling in exchange for a stake in the property.

Currently, the cut-off point for eligible participants here is €325,000.
However, Diarmuid McMahon from Sherry Fitzgerald McMahon in Ennis says the amount is not viable for developers.
