Clare Auctioneer Says Current Planning Process Means Enough Affordable Homes Won’t Be Built

A Clare auctioneer says planning processes in this country are not efficient enough to allow enough affordable homes to be built.

A report from the Irish Home Builders Association has found that up to 36,000 new homes will be required each year over the next two decades to meet current demand.

The report is forecasting a drop in home building this year, and there’s already evidence of that – figures released earlier this month by the CSO showed a 12% drop in the number of homes built in Clare since this time last year.
