A Clare Auctioneer claims the findings of the CSO’s latest Property Price Index does not reflect what’s happening on the ground in this county.
According to the CSO, the average price paid for a new or existing dwelling in Clare was just over €257,000 in April, which is down over €40,000 from the figure recorded in March.
The index also shows the number of new property transactions here fell by 75% between March and April, dropping from 12 to 3.
But Douglas Hurley from DNG O’Sullivan Hurley in Ennis has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan he believes the true number of sales is much higher and the market remains well in favour of the seller.
