Clare Auctioneer Claims Small Landlord Tax Break Long Overdue

An Ennis-based auctioneer claims a tax break for small landlords is overdue to a “frustrating” extent.

It comes as Finance Minister Michael McGrath has strongly suggested that measures to relieve the tax burden on small landlords will be included in the budget to “bring some stability to the rental sector”.

The latest figures from Sherry Fitzgerald indicate approximately 21,000 landlords left the market last year while the number of rental homes has dropped by 43,000 in the past five years.
