Clare's ASTI representatives says strike action at schools remains a possibility following the latest pay proposals aimed at ending their ongoing dispute.
Details of the deal emerged yesterday, including an opt-out clause for members who don't want to carry out supervision and substitution duties and a gradual increase in pay for newly qualified staff.
The union's standing committee is to discuss the proposals at a special meeting on Saturday following which a decision on whether members will be ballotted will be revealed.
Peter Quinn, a teacher at St Flannan's College in Ennis says the deal falls short of what they were hoping for but there have been a number of welcome measures included.
