Clare artists have taken an over €13,000 share of a €1.1 million Government funding pot.
The Department of Culture, Communications and Sport has announced funding for 129 projects promoting Irish arts globally through Culture Ireland’s Regular Grants Programme.
Ennistymon resident Mick Flannery and Ennis native Susan O’Neill have been awarded €4,000 for a tour of the UK while the same amount has been granted to Ruan’s Tara Breen, Caherea’s Pádraig Rynne and guitarist Jim Murray who will be embarking on a trip to Norway and Denmark next month.
A total of €3,000 has been allocated to a project in Australia led by Feakle fiddle icon Martin Hayes, and Ballyvaughan musician Neil Ó Lochlainn’s UK tour next year has been funded to the tune of €2,200.
