Clare’s Aontú Representative is calling for urgent qualification reforms to address the teacher recruitment crisis.
According to educationposts.ie, there are currently 456 vacant post primary positions nationwide this morning, including 10 in Clare, just a fortnight ahead of the upcoming term.

In 2014, the length of the Primary Masters in Education programme was doubled from one to two years, adding an additional €5,500 to student fees.
Aontú MidWest PRO and Assistant Principal at St.Munchin’s College, Eric Nelligan believes the duration is acting as a major deterrent.
