Clare Animal Welfare Says Growing Number of People Forced To Surrender Dogs Due To Accommodation Policies

Clare Animal Welfare says a growing number of people are being forced to surrender their dogs due to landlords not accepting pets.

Approximately two thirds of the dogs that go into the charity’s care are relinquished by the owners themselves with roughly half of these cases due to their accommodation’s “no pet policy”.

The charity’s dog intake of 156 last year was 46 higher than the previous year with owners returning to work after lockdown believed to be a key reason for dogs being surrendered.
