A Clare animal sanctuary has launched an urgent fundraising appeal to help treat one of its donkeys, which is in need of veterinary care for COPD.
Hill Top Sanctuary in Scariff was recently forced to purchase new land due to increased demand for its services, taking on a number of donkeys occupying the land in the process.

The sanctuary also has several cats that urgently need to be spayed, while 20 donkeys and horses are due for farrier visits in the near future.
Catriona Lowry from Hill Top Sanctuary says a separate shelter must be built to provide the appropriate treatment for the respiratory illness.
