Clare Among Counties With Highest Rate Levels

Clare businesses pay some of the highest rates levels in the country.

A new IBEC study has also found that Clare County Council is more dependent on rates for its income than most local authorities.

The business group says 38.5% of the Council’s income is paid by retailers in the form of rates, with the average bill here 8,830 euro, higher than all bar only five other local authorities.
