Clare Allocated Extra Places On Government’s Rural Social Scheme

12 additional places have been allocated to Clare as part of the Rural Social Scheme.

Minister Regina Doherty has announced that the new places will provide support for low-income farmers and fishermen to carry out work in their communities.

This includes work at sports clubs and other community facilities.

Participants in the Rural Social Scheme work for 19.5 hours a week, and in return receive a top-up on their social welfare payments.
