A Clare short term let host is warning this county’s industry is still facing serious uncertainty ahead of new regulations coming into effect at the end of the year.
The Department of Tourism has confirmed that all short-term let hosts will be required to register their properties with Fáilte Ireland between December 1st and 31st.
It means many providers will have to meet new regulations to secure planning permission, while short-term lets will be restricted in towns like Ennis and Shannon where the population is above 20,000.
Voluntary AirBnB Lead for Clare, Limerick and Tipperary Lorna Cahill says they still don’t know what the compliance issues are.
