Similar trends were also seen on holdings of between 50 and 100 acres in Clare, where the average price is now €10,125 per acre for good land, down €375 on the previous year.

Clare’s poor quality land increased in value significantly however, rising 20% from €5,375 per acre in 2023 to €6,500 per acre.

When it came to holdings of over 101 acres, Clare’s poor quality land was the second cheapest in the country coming in at a price of €3,200 per acre, with less expensive plots of land only available in Mayo.

Waterford had the most expensive non-residential land in the country, with less than 50 acres of good quality land on the market for €23,000 per acre on average.

Teagasc and the Society of Chartered Surveyors are predicting that land prices across the board will increase by 6% this year.
