Clare’s Age Friendly Ambassador is urging the Government to prepare now for the growing number of older people that will be part of society in the coming years.
Today the UN is celebrating the International Day of Older Persons, and as part of this an Older Persons Expo is taking place at the West County Hotel in Ennis.

At present there are over 21,000 people over the age of 65 living in this county, more than 17% of the population.
Ennis Singer-Songwriter and Stockton’s Wing Member Mike Hanrahan says the older generations are making more contributions than ever.
