A Clare addiction counsellor claims he’s increasingly coming into contact with people experiencing problems arising from recreational cocaine.
The Health Research Board has revealed over 13,000 people sought help for problem drug use last year which was the highest annual number recorded to date.

Cocaine accounted for a whole 40% of cases, making it the most common drug.
Polydrug/Cocaine Initiative Co-ordinator at Bushypark Addiction Treatment Centre, Maurice Crowe, says those who use cocaine in social settings are forgetting about its “highly addictive” nature.
