An esteemed Clare activist believes Irish society has transformed for the better in recent decades while the US is no longer a sanctuary for LGBTQ people.
The first ever recognition ceremony for members of the Irish diaspora who either live with or have lost their lives to HIV or AIDS will be held in the Irish Embassy London on December 1st.
The event coincides with World Aids Day and is being hosted by His Excellency Ambassador Martin Fraser and his wife Deirdre Fraser.
Clare priest renowned for his human rights work with HIV and AIDS in the US, Bernard Lynch, claims Ireland is now a safer place for members of the LGBTQ community than the United States.
