A Clare abuse survivor is calling for a dedicated emergency service to be established for victims of domestic violence.
It follows a marked increase in reports of domestic, sexual and gender based violence during the adverse weather conditions and Christmas period.
In 2023 alone, Gardaí were alerted to over 2,400 call-outs in the Clare-Tipperary division; which is an increase of over 300% within a decade.
Former Clare Haven service user and volunteer Louise Bailey says some people are living in terrifying environments.
