Fears West Clare Homes At Risk Of Fire Due To Lack Of Enforcement

It’s claimed residents of West Clare are being subject to serious fire safety risks due to a lack of oversight on casual trading licences.

It follows concerns raised by residents of Miltown Malbay relating to fast food vendors using flammable materials within six metres of their homes and operating beyond permitted trading hours after festivals and events.

The local authority’s property management unit has confirmed meanwhile that its exploring options in two unnamed towns where breaches of casual trading bye-laws have been reported.
